Frequently asked questions

Answers for curious minds

Explore detailed responses to common questions about our voice-first learning tool, designed to foster critical thinking and curiosity in children. If you have additional inquiries, our team is here to help.

Is this an app for kids or parents?

Only parents can create an account. Children use the app only in “Child Mode,” which parents can turn on or off with a PIN.

What does a session look like?

Each session lasts about 6 minutes. Your child picks a topic they enjoy (for example animals, space, sports). Socratic then guides them with one open-ended question at a time: warming up, exploring, and reflecting.

Is parental supervision required?

While our tool is designed for independent use, we recommend that parents periodically review progress and discuss topics with their children. This ensures a supportive environment and maximizes the benefits of each session.

What age group is it for?

Socratic is designed for ages 9 to 12, but younger or older children can join if parents feel it is appropriate.

Do I need to help my child during a session?

No. The app guides the conversation in a child-friendly way. Parents set up the account and PIN; children practice independently.

What data do you collect?

We do not store children’s names or voices. Parents create the account, and we only track basic usage (for example topics chosen, number of sessions) to improve the app.
